Back in 1980, the founder, Dave Cooper, at 16, started a landscaping business under D.C. Landscaping, Inc. They serviced DuPage County, residential and local businesses with complete landscape services and snow removal.

In 1995, Dave purchased his first semi-tractor and trailer to expand his company into something more significant. By 2002, Dave was taking on the task of managing 38 semi-tractors, 82 trailers, and 45 full-time employees. He was in charge of one of the most extensive sand, gravel, and topsoil hauling companies in the Chicagoland area, along with his growing landscaping and snow removal business.

When 2005 came, Dave decided to sell his hauling company to focus his efforts on building his landscape material supply company. Landscape Material & Firewood Sales, Inc. currently operates and manufactures its material on three sites located in West Chicago, Carol Stream & Rockford, Illinois, on 26 acres.
